Defense Mechanism in Young People

by Vignesh Dhandapani
Defending!!!  A Ramification??
The process of defense may be expressed in various ways ranging from subtle self-talks, to gross arguments and even physical fights.  Now if we ask ourselves what are we defending, whats our answer, generally??  After sufficient scrutiny we end up with an answer and that is, we are all defending or protecting our governing BELIEFS.
Any thoughts or actions that is not in line with one’s belief systems will trigger the defending attitude. Unfortunately the most tensed and materially anxious people are the one’s who have very unreasonable or unrealistic governing belief systems.
Reasons for their undue anxiety and mental torture:
If their beliefs are far from the natural realities, then their defensive nature will be triggered time and again. Defensive confrontation is always associated with uncertainty of the outcome. This, in turn, breeds more and more anxiety, stress, tension and ultimately unhappiness.
Conclusion:
Remember, if you are unhappy for most of the time then there could be gap between reality and your governing beliefs.
Happy news for all: All of us have the freedom to change our governing beliefs by our conscious endeavors.
The role of Vedic Literature for one’s happiness:
Vedic literatures are manuals given by the creator for all living entities, especially the one who has Human body has the ability to comprehend. These literatures ground our Governing beliefs not only to the relative realities but also to the Absolute realities. This in turn enables the practitioner to lead a simple and happy life, as the saying goes ” Simple living High thinking”.
Just do it:
Read the Books by the Glorious and world renowned author – His Divine Grace A.C. Bhakti Vedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada – to identify and ground your unrealistic ogverning beliefs and BE HAPPY.
