We live in a world, which swings violently from one extreme end of the spectrum to the other, in very short span of time. This is a world of duality, yes, but we do not have to live an imbalanced life all the time in all areas of life. Balance and consequently, steadfastness (The Bhagavad-Gita calls this sthairya (BG13.8-12) need not be elusive for normal human beings. It is something every common man can achieve through practice and conscious living. When Arjuna helplessly questions Lord Krishna how it is possible to control the seemingly uncontrollable mind, He answers that it is through “practice (abhyasa) and tolerance (titiksha)” alone (BG 6.35 and BG 2.14). Every skill – material or spiritual – needs practice to sharpen and become finer.

In a world that is overloaded with information, from all directions, how then do you sift through the key points that can help you individually? One man’s solution may be another’s pain.
