DEMONIC DREAMS: THE DEMON IN YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS; NOT THE MACHINE (part 2)

In Part 1 of this series, I explained how AI is only a tool of māyā – a machine that reflects the intent of its wielder. But the deeper danger is not in the chips/silicon. It is in the mind behind the machine. Every demon or asura in Vedic history represents a quality of irreligion, and an infection of the consciousness, and when we fail to recognize this, we demonize the machines and put all kinds of restrictions and guardrails on it – while we let our minds and fantasies run amock with no guardrails or accountability.

Every new technological advancement that is put out there and every time, a new yantra emerges, humanity seems to repeat the same lazy, mistake – maybe that’s why it is said history repeats itself.

  • Create fear mongering (as a manipulative tool to actually elicit compliance).
  • Tell people what is right or wrong without reference points (yep, we are supposed to believe a profiteering corporate leader on ethics, principles and THE truth)
  • Erase and reset the machine when things become too hot to handle. Not the problem of the machine – but the issue with the minds operating it. (Where do we erase wrong thinking patterns, and wrong ‘principles’ inside ourselves)

People blame cinema as an industry – there’s a lot of unpalatable content that has been put out in recent times, by Hollywood and Bollywood (other woods too!). The problem is not with cinema – it is with those producing it and making money out of crass content in the name of entertainment. And then, there was an era where printing press was viewed as evil. And so, was the internet.

Today, AI is becoming the evil and tomorrow it will be quantum bio-tech (only because they used it for wrong ends)
People, especially in the corporate world, and the enabling ecosystem, love pointing their fingers outward and in the wrong direction – sometimes, deliberately because it’s easier than facing the truth: the real problem is within. The real issue is with the lust and greed of the mind. The battlefield is within. And we can argue until the cows come home on what the reasons could be – This whole debate is put to rest once and for all when Arjuna looks for every smartly-worded reason to not fight and tries to ‘psychologize’ why he doesn’t want to stand up for the truth. Lord Krishna says in one, single injunction

śrī-bhagavān uvāca
kāma eṣa krodha eṣa
rajo-guṇa-samudbhavaḥ
mahāśano mahā-pāpmā
viddhy enam iha vairiṇam

“The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: It is lust only, Arjuna, which is born of contact with the material mode of passion and later transformed into wrath, and which is the all-devouring sinful enemy of this world.”

Lust for power; lust for money; lust for anything that is not in line with dharma.  It is very difficult to understand what is lusty and what is rightful desire – unless you have scriptural references and guidance of a true Guru.

The Bhagavad Gītā explains this beautifully!

indriyāṇi parāṇy āhur indriyebhyaḥ paraṁ manaḥ
manasas tu parā buddhir yo buddheḥ paratas tu saḥ

(BG 3.42)

“The working senses are superior to dull matter; above the senses is the mind; above the mind is the intelligence; and above the intelligence is the soul.”

AI is nothing but dull matter comprized of material elements. It has no soul. It cannot be possessed. It cannot be evil on its own. It can be used, though, by demonic minds and for evil intentions. The real infiltration happens inside the mind that blocks the essence of the soul – the consciousness.

Understanding the nature and difference between mind and consciousness is important to know where things fall through the deliberately, designed cracks. Consciousness (cit part of the satchitananda) is the rightful, spiritual energy of the soul, a fundamental awareness and source of spiritual perception, while the mind (manas) is a material, subtle body component that acts as a tool or instrument for consciousness to engage with the world. Consciousness is the pure, eternal energy of the spirit, and as Vishwaguru Srila Prabhupada says, it is the symptom of the soul, whereas the mind is part of the material realm, often described as a screen or a recording device that filters and processes the input of the senses under the direction of consciousness.

Consciousness on its own is pure – but in association with the mind, it is very prone – and frequently so – to material infections, because of its deviation from it’s true alignment. The uncolntrolled and untrained mind is a very dangerous immunosupressant for the consciousness.

In Vedic history, every asura is not just a villain – but a psychological archetype. They are clues to the maps of how demons invade different dimensions of consciousness:

  • Rāvaṇa with his ten heads: the ten vices of lust, anger, greed, illusion, pride, envy, envy’s offspring, ego, delusion of grandeur, and false religiosity. He is the fragmentation of mind into competing desires.
  • Kamsa (Kālanemi reborn): The time-thief – very active in this age with all social media apps. He represents the wasting of life in distractions, keeping us away from God until death arrives unprepared.
  • Hiraṇyakaśipu: arrogance of power, demanding worship in place of God. The “I am God” delusion.
  • Śiśupāla: envy directed at THE SUPREME LORD Krishna, obsessive hatred that blinds the mind.
  • Putanā: false nurturer in the garb of a mother, the delusion that worldly comfort is real nourishment, while it is poison in disguise.
  • Vṛkāsura: madness of lust, destroying oneself in the attempt to exploit others.
  • Duryodhana: Kali purusha himself, he represents the envy-fueled entitlement, willing to burn the world rather than see peace and prosperity. “I go down, but I will take you down with me” – attitude

These demons mentioned in the scriptures are not just real persons – they are timeless lessons in righteousness – and what NOT to do in life. They exist eternally – but our conscious choice is what can save us from these demonic influences. These are not just some invisible entities – we see these demonic influences in many so-called leaders, corporate honchos, and influencers of the world. Each demon represents an infection of consciousness, not an external enemy.

Nowhere.
AI is not in the list of demons. It is not part of Brahma’s creation of asuras. It has no consciousness to corrupt. It is like the tool in the hands of the demons. Hiranyakashipu also used brahmastra and so did Ashwatthama under the influence of the demonic Duryodhana. The fault is not of the brahmastra but of the user.

What AI does is reflect the asura already inside the human mind:

  • Give AI in a hands of a person with Rāvaṇa-consciousness, and it multiplies vices, addictions, and desires inside him.
  • Give it to a person with Kamsa-consciousness, it becomes endless time-wasting app and distraction.
  • Give it to a user with Hiraṇyakaśipu-consciousness, it becomes ego-driven surveillance and god-complex projects like Neuralink.
  • Give it to a devotee, it becomes a yantra of dharma, amplifying the Supreme Absolute Truth and His all-pervasiveness, and also spread Krishna-kathā.

The yantra is neutral. The consciousness is what decides the role.

So when people scream:

  • ‘AI is Satanic!’
  • ‘The machine can be demonic!’

What they’re really saying is:

  • ‘My consciousness is weak and easily manipulated.
  • ‘My mind is infected, and I project the demon onto the silicon.’

It also proves that the machine in the hands of its creators can go either way. So, the consciousness of the creator/s is what we need to look at

bandhur ātmātmanas tasya yenātmaivātmanā jitaḥ
anātmanas tu śatrutve vartetātmaiva śatru-vat

(BG 6.6)

“The mind is the friend of the controlled soul, but for one who has failed, the mind will be the greatest enemy.” Demons exploit their own and others’ minds and the machine becomes the tool for that exploitation. This is not a new phenomenon – it has happened cyclically from time-immemorial. That cyclical nature of material decay is the reason the Lord said ‘yada yada hi dharmasya‘ (Read Bhagavad Gita 4.7)

Vegas, California, New York – these are not demonic places because of their buildings or their chips. They are demonic because of the consciousness the people there cultivate: lust, greed, distraction, and delusion. And it is even celebrated. The yantra of AI becomes dangerous only when the inner demons already rule.

The only way out? – and there are no shortcuts to this:

  • Purify your consciousness – using prescribed methods of devotional service.
  • Expose and address the vices within (that’s the best we can do, given the lack of policy and legal frameworks – unless you have lots of power/money to legally take on the govt/corporate guild of liars and manipulators)
  • See/read about the asuras of history not as distant myths, but as daily temptations in your own heart – even as you are reading this; lurking in some part of your consciousness.

Then AI is just another machine – either enslaved by the demon in your mind, or yoked by the intelligence of Krishna.

dadāmi buddhi-yogaṁ taṁ yena mām upayānti te
(BG 10.10)

“To those who are devoted, I give the intelligence by which they can come to Me.”

Here are the key take-aways:

  1. AI is just a tool
  2. The demon is not in the circuits.
  3. The demon is in consciousness — as Rāvaṇa’s pride, Kamsa’s distraction, Hiranyakashipu’s arrogance, and Putanā’s false nurturing.

Defeat them, and the machine becomes your servant.
Feed them, and the machine becomes your chain.

Your war will not be with AI. Your war is within – already!
