Going by what we see in every media today – be it print or electronic – it is very evident how fast paced, provocative and sexualized our social setup has evolved into.  We even have sex education in schools these days.  But what most educationists and so called think tanks of our society have grossly missed is that no amount of sensual education can help control the inevitable slide into disappointments, distress and despair.  These negative build ups can have alarming effects on who we are and who will be be for others who want to model after us.  As a hot blooded youngster, one may not fully comprehend the consequences of this on personal values and culture…these have not yet come to pass in full blown form.  And one day when it does, it is important to brace oneself for it.

Srila Prabhupada said, “It is not a very good condition, when the young generation, which is the future hope of the country, feels that there is no hope.  Their future is dark.  Why?  Because they have no direction. What is the aim of life? What will they become? The philosophy is, work hard, get dollars, and enjoy as you like.  This is misguidance.  Therefore, the young are not happy.  So, they take center of something which is objectionable for satisfaction.  But that cannot give total satisfaction.”

We are living in a very materialistic societal setup and to transcend this frustrating experience as well as success in our day to day lives, a youngster must – under proper guidance – understand how to stand up on the right foundation.  How to associate with great people and have fun in everyday life.
