Sacred Marriage – Ideals for a Perfect Marriage

Sacred Marriage is a forum to help people in general (women in particular) – who are wanting to marry or already married – to learn to understand the real meaning and objective of marriage. It is very easy for us to say to ourselves that we are above counseling and that we can attend to all our problems ourselves. This is because of the wrong meaning attached to the word counseling.
Sacred Marriage is a forum by participating in which, you can help yourselves and then others too, to see what is marriage and what Vedas have defined marriage as
Why do we need such a forum?
There is a dire need for a such forum where you can understand the realities of life and the solutions to problems from the words of enlightened authorities and not some spiritually unevolved psychologist who makes money off you and is perhaps not able to attend to problems in his/her own backyard. Such encounters with immature counseling setups can leave us confused and out of step with life because people in general view those approaching psychologists as weak.
Like they say “Problems stop when the sea stands still”. So how do you face the challenges of life on a sustained basis and also feel strengthened and not alienated or ridiculed for seeking help? This is possible only when we address this challenge on the spiritual platform.
How can Sacred Marriage help you?
This forum helps you in three ways.
1. Allows you to post your questions and get answers – all anonymously – from expert counselors…for free.
2. Gives access to solid, well-researched books by His Divine Grace A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, and other materials based on his teachings. All this and more, on principles of a peaceful and successful marriage. We also share case studies on how to practice them in real life
3. You can share your thoughts and ideas with others based on your reading exercise. After consistently doing certain set of activities with us, you can even take on the role of a spiritual counselor and make a difference in others’ lives.
Why seek help at all? Life is too large to waste it on one person?
One stark reality we all should be cognizant of is that no marriage is free from problems. But the fact is that many people think they can extract again elsewhere the happiness that they failed to build in their current marriage. This is what is called as maya or illusion. The good news is that we have a way to overcome such problems before it infects our entire personality and we are deflected into seeking a happiness treasure that is as real as a mirage in the desert.
The problem is we don’t know who to approach
When we approach enlightened people like Srila Prabhupada and seek our answers and solution to problems of like, we are not given whimsical, fashionable answers that are delusional in nature. The answers are authentic, scientific, proven and from the words of Lord Himself..such words truly bring hope and peace and opens a sure path to walk on. Even if the journey is challenging, the destination becomes clear and hence our enthusiasm awakens. This is the secret of living a marriage as designed by our Vedic Wisdom
Learning from Spiritual Principles of Marriage
The more you interact with the forum members, the more it will help you to refocus on your priorities. You can find many standard, age-old techniques and principles which help you address relationship issues. This is because we always share, not whimsical modern day psychiatric insights, but direct edicts from Vedas and from Krishna Himself. This helps satisfy your hunger for good meaningful relationships because by the time you are through with all our reading materials and recommended steps, you will know with whom and how to forge new relationships and how to strengthen existing ones. It transforms your persona and can make you a good influencer of relationships in your life.
So ask these questions today to yourself:
What is your idea of marriage? Do you have a proven foundation to support you in this? (if not, you are gambling!)
Do you think it will work or are you gambling with the idea?
Are there issues within that you have never looked into/addressed? Do you know even how to look into yourself?
Are you aware of the eternal wisdom of our Vedic scriptures or are you relying on solutions given by friends and family members which may or may not work?

In The Forgotten Option by Kenneth Connelly, it is conveyed that marriage is a profound and sacred union between two individuals. However, when a couple exchanges vows, their union extends beyond just the two of them; it encompasses their close and extended family, future children, and forthcoming generations. To safeguard the legacy, heritage, and future of the original family, it is vital to avoid divorce and subsequent remarriage…
Thanks for sharing. Vedic scriptures have no mention of anything called divorce. This is because Vedic religion looks at marriage as a time bound union between two souls as ordained by the Lord. And both husband and wife honor the institution of marriage with living as per spiritual laws and do not bring in unnecessary attachments except in service of God. We live in the Age of Kali and quarrels and fights are common, as are misunderstandings. The founder-acharya of ISKCON, HG AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada had left very clear instructions that for some reason, if a couple separate, it is better to live the rest of the life in service of God. Especially if they alredy have a child together
